If you haven’t signed up yet for Academy, it’s not too late! Here is some more detail about our program as it takes shape. Part working session, part think tank, and part reunion, LearningBuilder Academy will be a packed day of in-person programming for the LearningBuilder client community and the Heuristic Solutions team.
Free to attend, this year’s event takes place on Tuesday, April 28th, at our Heuristics HQ conference center in Arlington, Virginia. Here’s a glimpse of what the day has to offer. For full program details and the latest updates, visit the official LearningBuilder Academy page.
The Principles Shaping the Program
We carefully considered the value we could deliver to our attendees, and built this year’s program around four themes related to what you will take away from our time together:
- Guidebook Sessions: Get more out of your existing implementation
- Program Horizons: Think big about the future and get ahead of change
- LearningBuilder Roadmap: Learn about what is coming and shape our future
- Campfire Huddles: Get to know your community of customers and staff
Guidebook Sessions: Get more out of your existing implementation
LearningBuilder is a powerful tool— even more powerful if you know how to use it. One thread that will run throughout the day is practical, hands-on time with the platform as it currently exists. We’ll show you shortcuts, configurations, and data access points that will make your life easier. You’ll get to know your way around LearningBuilder a little better than when you arrived, and you’ll have real skills, tools, and best practices to bring back to your day-to-day work in the system. Get ready to say, “We didn’t know we could do that!”
Program Horizons: Envision your program’s future
The credentialing landscape is shifting, and programs that will thrive over the next decade are those that make moves now to meet the moment and the changes ahead. And we want to help! We’ll spend part of the day collaboratively exploring important questions about what’s next for your program:
- How is the way people learn changing?
- What are employers starting to ask for that they weren’t five years ago?
- What does any of that mean for how you assess and recognize competence?
We will ground these conversations in both real industry insights and the perspective from your peers at other organizations, so you walk away with at least one concrete idea for the future of your programs. A little souvenir to take back to your team, if you will.
LearningBuilder Roadmap: Help Shape Where We’re Going
We also want to hear from you! After all, you’re who we build for.
What feels harder than it should be? What do you want to implement but haven’t yet? What future development would make the biggest difference for you? Get on the record and have a say in what happens next. You’ll have opportunities to discuss your priorities directly with our Product team. We’ll share what we’ve been working on, including recent platform updates and future plans.
Campfire Huddles: Opportunities for Connection and Conversation
When you’ve brainstormed and broken bread with the people behind the platform, it makes the tough conversations easier. It makes asking for help feel less daunting. And it means that when something goes “wonky,” you know exactly what to do to reach a resolution fast.
Throughout the day, we will make space for formal and informal sharing and socialization. We want to offer the chance to compare notes with peers who are solving similar problems and learn from each other’s experiences. We also just want to get to know each other better, IRL.

Still not sure? Here is the day in more detail:
Academy kicks off with coffee, registration, introductions, and a brief company update. Then, the opening session sets the stage by establishing a shared foundation for the candidate journey and how credentialing organizations fit into a larger network and flow of learning, performance, and assessment— the credentialing ecosystem.
From there, the program moves into a forward-looking conversation on the future of credentialing. We will discuss some emerging trends in the workforce expectations, education, and assessment. Whether today or tomorrow, change may be coming to how you assess initial eligibility, manage education providers, and structure your recertification / continuing competence programs. Attendees will have real opportunities to share what they’re seeing in their own programs as well as hear from their peers. And of course. . .AI.
Next, we’ll shift to a session on what LearningBuilder has been doing to meet the moment and prepare for what lies ahead. This is a look at the platform’s most significant recent advances, including new capabilities around Portfolios and the Learning Hub, improvements to file uploads, and expanded self-service options for integrations. We’ll also share more on where the product is headed in the next year. And of course. . .AI.
Throughout the day, we’ll address the potential for AI disruption across all of these topics, share potential use cases as we envision them, and get your input on how AI will change your work at both the day-to-day and industry level.
We will return from lunch refreshed and ready for hands-on exercises and work inside the system. Sessions will cover practical skills in areas like reporting, workflow configuration, and role management, among other common Support requests. Let’s teach you how to fish! All of these tasks are easier once you’ve done them once with the right guidance.
The afternoon also includes a focused session on Heuristics’ adopted AI guidelines (and guardrails). We will collectively demystify integrations to reveal a clearer picture of what integrated services actually involve, from setup to ongoing maintenance to troubleshooting. You will also have a voice in how we prioritize models for self-service in future integrations, and consider how additional integrations might better connect your credential ecosystem. And of course. . .AI.
Finally, our always-popular Customer Roundtables will offer small breakout discussion groups facilitated by subject-matter experts from the Heuristics team. This year’s Roundtable topics will continue conversations begun throughout the day’s presentations. We’ll summarize them to share our most powerful insights and next steps. And of course. . .AI.
After we’ve reconvened to share our synthesis of key themes and findings from our time together, a casual reception with socializing and celebration will close out the day. And of course. . .AI. Just kidding!
