We’re always looking for new ways to enhance the LearningBuilder end-user experience. Every bit of smoothing and improving provides serious process acceleration for everyone, from your constituents to your system configurators.
In that spirit, our upcoming LearningBuilder release will include one of these highly impactful improvements! Multi-File Uploads are designed to save time and improve the end-user experience by simplifying document management tasks.
File Upload and Management for Credential Processes
Many credential management processes require uploads of multiple files. Accreditation applications, for example, have many standards that must be met. Some of those standards might require more documentation than others. Likewise, CE submissions for recertification require multiple documents (like a receipt and a certificate) as proof of completion. If you have a complaints and investigations process, members of the public may need to submit multiple pieces of evidence.
Multi-File Uploads: Now Made Easier in LearningBuilder
This feature continues our efforts to optimize LearningBuilder’s document upload and storage functionality. Past updates have included support for larger file sizes, videos, and direct upload to file libraries. Now, we’re adding a straightforward, one-field option for uploads that contain multiple files.
Previously, supporting multiple uploads meant applications with multiple separate upload fields. This was harder to configure and use. Conditional logic was required to display the correct number of visible file upload fields. If you only configured five fields, and a user needed to upload six files, they’d run into problems.
Now, multi-file uploads are much more straightforward to accomplish on both the front and back ends: Admins will use the LearningBuilder configuration UI to select the Multi-File Upload data type, and end users will use a single field to select multiple files from their computer or device. Certain specific files with associated business rules and validations (like a driver’s license or business license) will still require a dedicated single-file upload field. But if you need users to upload more than one of the same “kind of thing,” like the aforementioned documentation of CE completed, standards met, etc., multi-file uploads support a simple point-and-drag selection rather than a tedious, repetitive endeavor.
Smarter Storage for Streamlined Applications
The Multi-File Uploads feature also pairs well with another recent LearningBuilder update: Support for users to upload files directly into their file library, independent of a specific workflow step.
That means users can upload their relevant files whenever they want without having to keep track of them on their personal computer for a future step in their application. For example, a practitioner can now upload all of their completed CE certificates to their library at once. Then, as they complete their recertification application, they can simply link to the files from their LearningBuilder file library.
