LearningBuilder 12.8 has arrived, bringing a new major release candidate feature and some improvements to the configurator experience. Read on to learn more:
The Criteria-Added Activities feature is now available to explore in the testing environment (UAT). This feature allows a Learning Plan — a.k.a. an Application — to act as a centralized, shareable repository of professional achievements, activities, and accomplishments. With Criteria-Added Activities, Learning Plans can automatically “pull in” Activities that match defined criteria. This feature supports multiple use cases:
Candidates who pursue and maintain multiple credentials within the system only have to enter their Activities once. If an Activity entered on one credential Application meets the requirements for other Applications, it will automatically apply across those Applications.
Candidates can also report relevant Activities before they start an Application. When the Candidate takes that next step to pursue a credential and begins that Application, Activities that meet the criteria will be “pulled in” automatically.
Practitioners can enter their Activities into individual credential Applications and, if they match the criteria, a “virtual” Activity Portfolio Learning Plan will aggregate them into one centralized place for organization and display.
Alternatively, Practitioners can enter all their Activities into one centralized place, and Activities that meet the criteria will automatically apply to the relevant credential Applications.
We consistently work to improve implementation and the client configuration support experience. For example, many features include the ability to write internal notes, visible only to the configurator, as documentation. Documentation can be crucial for updates and maintenance to understand changes and their impact. With this release, we’ve made these internal notes more consistently available throughout the system’s configuration areas to support more of this documentation.
With our last release (LearningBuilder version 12.7), we added and linked numerous “Insights” views to the configuration UI. This helps System Administrators understand how a piece of configuration is used or has changed over time to assist with support and implementation. In this release, any URL column returned in the “Insights” view now displays as a Hyperlink that will open in a new tab. This means no need to copy and paste links into a new tab!
