Database Design & Web Integration

In the world of the Internet, people expect information to be available to them when they want it and where they want it. Many of our customers have developed databases for internal applications over the years but now need to share that information on the Web to meet this demand.

When we say “database”, we mean it in more than the technical sense. At a technological level, a database typically means a relational database management system (RDBMS) such as Microsfot SQL Server or Oracle, or desktop oriented databases like Microsoft Access or Filemaker. We know in the real world however a database can be anything from a stack of 3×5 cards to a set of Excel spreadsheets. Regardless of the form you are currently keeping your data in, we can find a way to make it easier to use, more reliable and more convenient for data entry and reporting.

We have worked with many customers to bring their existing data online and to use the Internet to collect a lot of that information directly. We start with a process of discovery and look at your database, the technology it is based on, its efficiency, and its ability to grow with you. If it has been well developed already, we won’t need to introduce complete overhaul.

If you do not have a database or your current database isn’t meeting your needs, we will make sure we develop one that is tailored to your needs and anticipates your growth. We will examine what kinds of data you gather, how you use them, and how much data your system will handle. We will then design the database around your requirements and make sure it can grow as your needs evolve.

Let us take a look at your data to show you where we can propose a cost effective way to streamline the way you use it.
